As the holiday seasons roll around, EntSoc is excited to announce two incoming co-presidents, Amit Mehta and Esa Li, to take over for the Winter 2017 term. As Simon transitions out of EntSoc, Ha will continue to be a part of EntSoc to help smooth the changeover between presidents with plans to return to EntSoc in Fall 2017!
Meet Amit Mehta.
Amit is a 3A Nanotechnology Engineering student that has been heavily involved with campus extracurriculars and the entrepreneurship community in KW. Having been a part of EntSoc for 4 terms in operations roles, he is excited to co-lead the largest student entrepreneurship group on campus. Amit is the founder of Reboot, a club dedicated to cross-faculty collaboration. He has also held leadership roles in the Waterloo Music Club and Engineering Society. A two-time Velocity Resident, Amit has direct experience with Velocity companies both in the lab and in the new ‘Jungle’ space in the Tannery. Currently building a portfolio as a Sales Engineer and Project Manager, Amit enjoys balancing his schedule by performing across KW and the GTA with his band. Amit will serve in the Co-president role for Winter and Spring 2017.
Meet Esa Li.
Esa will be entering her 1B term as a Math/CPA student. She has also been involved as President’s Special Projects Director in UW’s Mathematics Society and as the Associate Commissioner for the Feds Teaching Awards Commission. Having organized events for numerous non-profit organizations (such as JDRF, Western Heads East, and Canadian Blood Service) and having been a part of EntSoc in the Fall 2016 term as an Operations Director, Esa brings a lot of new, fresh ideas to EntSoc. She is an avid reader of Timothy Findley and spends the rest of her free time soaking up chlorine at the pool. Esa will serve in the Co-president role for Winter and Spring 2017.
As we celebrate UWaterloo’s 60th year of innovation in 2017, we also look forward to another successful year promoting entrepreneurship here at EntSoc!
