Meet Conrad


The Conrad Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology Centre is part of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo. The primary goal of Conrad and its affiliated programs is to help support and expand student’s knowledge and access to entrepreneurship at the University of Waterloo. Conrad has a multitude of resources to help you and your ideas grow.

With respect to entrepreneurial education, Conrad offers courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level:

Undergraduate Courses

BET 100: Essentials of Entrepreneurial Behaviour:

The online BET 100 course provides students with an approach to finding and learning how to develop solutions to “big ideas.” This course is open to all students, all interests and all backgrounds.


BET 300: Foundations of Venture Creations:

The BET 300 course is available to students who are committed to starting a venture on their own. The course is an introduction to the processes involved in moving an idea from conception to launch.


BET 400: Growing Early Stage Ventures:

Offering a deeper understanding of the processes of early-stage venture creation, BET 400 will build on what you’ve learned in BET 300 and provide even more support for you as a new entrepreneur. The purpose of this course is to help sustain and grow a venture that has already launched.

Master of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology

The MBET program is designed for bright, ambitious, creative, and innovative team players who can demonstrate they have the passion and drive it takes to excel as an entrepreneur. Learn the key skills, tips, and features—such as marketing, accounting, strategy management, and business leadership— that will help you get to where you want to be as an entrepreneur. No matter what your academic background, this program provides the perfect platform to launch a new idea and opens doors to new opportunities.

Graduate Diploma in Business and Entrepreneurship

The Graduate Diploma in Business and Entrepreneurship (GDBE) is directed to ambitious students who want to enhance their degree with the practical business skills needed to attract potential employers in the fields of business and entrepreneurship.
